The idea that landscapes do not exist without being contemplated and further verbalized supports a duality in which they lose a sense of existence. The ephemeral nature of such phenomenon is that which attracts the artist, who in turn attempts to materialize it. Through a multidisciplinary approach, he is able to create new, modified spaces that grasp our attention with their uniqueness.
The intention of the artist to develop a work that revolves around an intangible phenomenon is something of great value because it shows us his desire to create a common language to convey something that is difficult to put into words. Through his use of color and form, Ilama expresses his vision of landscape in a submissive way, creating a naive image of landscape where nothing competes. The work does not try to copy reality but rather modify it.
